Miracle Bread

So, maybe I eat a lot of bread.  I can't help it, it's one of my favourites {maybe it's also partly the francophile in me}.  I don't get to make it as often as I'd like because my schedule is usually pretty full, but when I found a recipe for "Miracle Bread" that only took an hour to make from start to finish, I knew that I had to try it.
Last night, Jennifer and I put it to the test, and guess what--it really is a miracle!  It is that fast and that easy and that delicious!  Emphasis on the fast!  We didn't start until a little after 8:30, and I was home a bit past 10:00, which meant I got enough sleep to go to a 5:45 spin class this morning {it's everything you ever heard it would be}.  Delicious bread and exercise all before the sun rose again?  I'd call it a success!

Recipe can be found [here].  Image belongs to Recipes Chez Moi...since we were in a rush, there was no time for photos.

Another Great Thing About D.C.

Or in otherwords, Reason #12938-93445891 why I'm so happy to be back home on the east coast and no longer in Utah.

Surprise lunch dates with my mom! Granted, I'd have those anyway when I was a student in Utah (yes, my parents were the ones who flew into town just because they wanted to surprise me), but now that Philadelphia is a short two-hour drive away, they are much more often!  Oh happiness!

There's About 12 Years of Backstory That Go Into Making This Funny

It's funny the things you remember about your friends.  Especially the things they said in the pre-teen years before anyone really has a brain or a filter.  It's even funnier when they don't remember what they've said/done.

ATQ part 2

Keep in mind, this becomes horrifically embarrassing instead of funny when the tables are turned.

Parts of the chat have been whited out to protect the innocent.  Apparently my ability to spell properly and to include all the words in a sentence were also whited out.

Metro Ridin'

What does a metro ride from Gallery Place to Forest Glen look like when:
you're journeying with a roommate who always comes armed with play-dough
a roommate who always has her camera ready
& you like to sculpt and get your photo taken?

Just Another Night At The Jefferson

Friday nights are made for sitting in front of monuments by the tidal basin under the cherry blossoms with friends.

And for "awwww"ing as a couple takes wedding photos.
And for saving shoes that fell into the water {not unlike a certain pair of keys...}

Cherry Blossom Festival

D.C. is a-bloomin', folks!  The Cherry Blossom Festival doesn't technically start until Sunday {I heard on the radio that Sara Bareilles will be performing at the opening concert...ugh! Wish I had me some tickets!}, but the peak is actually this week.  Actually, the peak of the peak {hello, Metro} was yesterday.  Guess what I did yesterday?  If you guess the CBF, then you are correct!  Sorry, no prizes.
We also got to see some memorials & monuments.  Guys, I just love D.C.!

Jour Du Macaron

Today was le Jour du Macaron.  The plan was to celebrate at Paul with macarons, but we got there after it closed.  Instead, we all ate at Teasim.  Not quite French, but definitely quite delicious.

Weekend Update

I hope that everyone had a most enjoyable weekend!  Mine was both eventful and enlightening.

I got to celebrate my beautiful friend Janan's birthday at Busboys & Poets! (but seriously, how great is her hair?)
Janan's Birthday

I went to a bonfire at my friend Taylor's and ate s'mores.  Let me publicly declare that I LOVE BONFIRES! Phew, glad that's out there.

My house hosted dinner group on Sunday!  It was a smaller group than anticipated, but that just means loads of left-over curry for me!

I also gained new insight about my New Year's Resolution.  Sometimes you really do have to learn things the hard way.  So that's fun.

How was your weekend?

Sunday Strolls

Now that the weather is warming up fo realzy {hello, 70s!}, I've been getting in the habit of going on Sunday walks with friends.  There are some beautiful parks and cute neighborhoods in the area, and I always love an opportunity to be out of doors!

That One Where I'm Super Classy

I'm going to try to write this post to make me seem as elitist as possible.

It was just another typical Saturday evening  with my camarade de chambre, Ciara.  Our company was desired at many events that night, but we decided to grace the National Cathedral with our presence.  The performance of Mozart's Requiem was simply marvelous, and our chaises in the north transcept offered the most supreme experience.  We were among the youngest in the audience, meaning, of course, that we are simply ahead of our time.  As usual.

1000

I know that 2 posts ago I said that the next post was a big one, but I lied/miscounted {it has been 6 years since I've taken a math class...thankyeww French for somehow counting as my math credit!}.  It's actually this post!
I made a VIDEO!! It's just under 5 minutes, and who knows how much sense it makes, but hey, I figured out how to make it, so that's gotta count for something, right? Right. Totes.
Also, please note that I made this before I'd eaten lunch.  If you know me, youknowwhatImean.

Museum Marathon & Picnic

I had the lovliest weekend!  The hike that was originally planned for Saturday was cancelled because there was the biggest, most thunder&lightening-y storm ever on Friday night.  Instead, we went to the Mall to visit some museums, and then had an indoor picnic afterwords.

First, we went to the Freer.

Then we enjoyed the cherry blossoms that are starting to bloom.

Next we went to the African Art Museum.

Finally {after a quick stop at Paul for macarons}, we went to the Native American Museum!
