I Still Have Some Friends Left In Provo

They are some of my favourite friends, and I got to see them the day after Sam and Kristie's wedding!

Let's do this in chronological order (my fave):

Miss Megan, very recently returned from a mission to the Ukraine!

Miss Emilee, a fellow ENFJ who is always making me laugh!

Mr. Derek and Mrs. Jen, some of the loveliest, smartest, kindest, most confident people that I know!
PKP JDawgs

Mr. Henry Jackson, my first (Cambridge) nephew! I was eating a delicious JDawg in these photos :) That mohawk!!

Mr. Geoff, whose brother's wedding reception I crashed.  You're allowed to do that when you've been friends for 4 years.

And finally, the night ended with Mr. Brock, a former DC intern who is one of the best guys I've ever known.

I was a little nervous to go back to Provo, but these friends all made it worth the trip.

The Reception

This is the last post about the wedding, I promise!

Sam and Kristie's reception was wonderful- friends, family, and cake!

As bridesmaids, one of our duties was to watch the gifts.  Let the record show that not a single present got stolen, so I think I've earned a free gift, right?

"That's not the garter!" Best moment of the whole reception.
Queen B came!!!  This picture of me and Annabelle isn't nearly as good as the one of her and my father.

Sam And Kristie Get Married

It rained, and it was perfect.
And there was a lot of hugging and laughing.
I sure am happy to have Kristie as my newest sister-in-law :)

The rain really picked up while real photos were being taken, so we hid under trees and suit coats.
And because I can't resist, here's a picture of my grandfather :)

This Is How We Do Normal

I didn't get very many pictures of our dinner with Kristie's family the night before the wedding (the first time I had met her!).  In part because my mom was doused in gasoline (really), the killer view from their front porch was distracting me, and Sam was otherwise engaged (pun!) serving as my airplane.

We have never been accused of being boring. Thank goodness. That would be the worst.

Also, I reassured Paigey that I'd wear normal clothes to meet Kristie.  When I reappeared in my bird shirt, she just sighed and said, "I thought you said normal clothes, Camille." Hahahaha

Twirl

Thank goodness for aunts and uncles who are also grandparents (to 62+ grandchildren!).  You can imagine how epic the dress-up walk-in closet/suite is at their home.

Rainy Love Day Sneak Peek

I'm back from my brother and sister-in-law's wedding.  I had such a good weekend, and I am positively exhausted.  More photos will come, but until then, here's one of my favorites of the day:

Wedding Party

Hello, dear ones!  I'm spending the next few days in Utah for Sam and Kristie's wedding!

Ask me how much I'm looking forward to seeing family, meeting Kristie, wearing a pretty dress, dancing, and visiting with friends. (Answer: a lot!)

Now ask me how much I'm looking forward to answering awkward questions about why I'm still single. (Answer: I'd rather be eating cheese.)

A bientot!

D.C. Love

D.C. has my heart.  I am so blessed to be here at this time in my life.  It has its share of hardships, but am I ever growing.

I'm learning the meaning of vulnerability.  These past few months have seen me slowly discovering what that word really means.  My dear, sweet friends, both long-term and new-found, are patient with me as I make my way to confident vulnerability.  Thank you.  I know I've been hard/weird lately (especially with this strange laugh I've developed?), and the friends I have found here have helped me in more ways than they know.

Never gets old. #vscocam

Yadda yadda yadda, I wrote this Monday night (technically Tuesday morning) as I was doing laundry after what I described to Eve as "a dining fiasco on the Hill!!"  I've trained myself to not late-night blog as I come across as emo (so many feeeelings), but you know what? I'm letting this one stay.

Long Distance Dinner Dates

I'd been craving Pad Thai all last week.  By Friday, I couldn't take it anymore.  Jourdan sympathized.  We both ordered some, ate it together over Skype {she in Boston, I in DC}, and caught up.  A most wonderful Friday, indeed.

B&B: These Is My Words

The inaugural meeting of the Books and Brunch Club was this past Saturday!  There was discussion of the literary techniques, delving into character analysis (and a little self analysis), and maybe I used the phrase, "Well, I was just talking to my hairdresser about this idea..."
The food was out of this world.  Hot Sauce Infused Bacon. Yup. What a way to kickstart the day.

At the end, it came time to pick the next book.  Several great titles were suggested, so we did what any sane group of people would do: write them all down on slips of paper, fold them up, and have our waiter pick for us!
